For months, I’ve been building something behind the scenes — and today I get to share it with you!
As our community has grown, I started noticing the same needs arise in my comment section — requests for templates, links to recipes, and the desire for more clarity around the everyday work of running a home. It reminded me that so many of us are trying to create homes that both feel intentional and operate efficiently, but we don't always have a place to turn for practical guidance.
This is the debut of The Homemaker Hotline, a monthly newsletter created to support homemakers with practical tools and resources you can actually use.
By subscribing you’ve officially joined our community! Welcome, I’m so happy you’re here.
Your Monthly Member Freebie
Every month, Hotline readers unlock a Members-Only freebie designed to bring more ease and order to your home. This month, you’ll receive a printable recipe card and a set of freezer labels to make your next meal prep session feel more organized and effortless. Here’s a sneak peak at the recipe card, but to receive both freebies, scroll to the end of this article.
Homemaking Spotlight: The Spring Reset Guide
Spring always feels like an invitation to start fresh, and this month’s Spotlight is all about helping you do exactly that — without the overwhelm that usually accompanies “spring cleaning”. Instead of trying to reset the entire house at once, we are breaking the season into simple, high-impact weekly focus areas.
WEEK ONE: Scrubbing the Storage
Closets and storage spaces silently collect the leftovers from every season. This week is all about giving those hidden zones a fresh start. Empty each closet, drawer, and bin so you can see what you’re actually working with. What can you donate? What should be thrown in the trash? What’s been missing for so long you forgot it existed? Clear out what no longer serves you, wipe down shelves, and reorganize with the new season in mind. When your storage spaces feel intentional, the rest of your home follows.
Focus Areas: bedroom closets, coat closet, utility closet, pantry, mudroom.
WEEK TWO: Washing the Washers
Your hardest working cleaning tools deserve a reset of their own. Deep cleaning them not only helps them last longer, but also makes every load — whether that be laundry or dishes — more effective. Replace filters, wipe seals, run cleaning cycles, and remove buildup in and around each machine. Don’t forget the tools that support your cleaning routines, too. A refreshed set of washers makes the entire home feel easier to maintain.
Focus Areas: clothes washer, clothes dryer, dishwasher, vacuum, mops, brooms.
WEEK THREE: Dusting the Details
This week we tackle the tiny, forgotten places that rarely make the weekly cleaning list, but make a huge difference in how your home feels. Dust builds on the edges of baseboards, vents, blinds, ceiling fans, window tracks, and door frames. A focused dusting session brightens every room and makes the whole house feel lighter.
Focus Areas: baseboards, ceiling fans, vents, window tracks, blinds, art pieces, door frames.
WEEK FOUR: Outworking the Outdoors
Winter is hard on a home’s exterior — leaving behind salt, mud, fallen leaves, and other debris. By the end of the month, the weather should finally be warm enough to head outside and give the exterior of your home some much needed attention. A quick exterior reset makes your home feel welcoming and sets the tone for the season ahead.
As beautiful as spring is, it’s also the time insects try to make their way inside. A clean outdoor space can help prevent that from happening.
Focus Areas: porch, patio, front door, back door, outdoor furniture
Call On the Hotline
The Homemaker Hotline has always been centered around community. I often talk about the importance of building a village and being a good villager. This space is one of the ways we practice that together.
Towards the end of each issue, you will see a Community Question. All members are welcome to share their own experience or advice. On The Hotline’s homepage, members can ask questions of their own and review previous Q&A’s. I’ll highlight a few questions and share my take, but this is truly a group conversation.
Community wisdom is powerful. We learn from each other, share what’s worked, and offer support when someone else is stuck.
To get the ball rolling, this month’s question is: What’s a spring cleaning task you dread every year, and what’s one tip you’d share with someone else who feels the same way?
This Month’s Freebie
Thank you for spending part of your month here with me and with this community. As a token of appreciation for your time, I’m happy to share a printable recipe card and coordinating freezer labels for a popular recipe on my channel: Jalapeno Chicken Quesadillas!
See You Next Month!
Next month, we’re shifting our focus to a new season of homemaking, one that invites us to grow, refresh, and rethink a few everyday habits. Keep an eye out for this next issue, you won’t want to miss it!
With Love,
Kierra Ward
